Cleanings and Exams

Cleanings and Exams

One of the most important parts of your overall oral care is going to be keeping up with routine visits to the dentist. Your teeth may be pearly white and you may not think that anything is wrong, but we want to assure you that you should still be coming in at least twice a year for regular cleanings and exams. Not only do we want to see you and catch up, but those cleanings and exams can help us find issues with your oral health before they become much larger problems.

If it’s been a while since your last cleaning or exam, give CDIC a call today at the office that’s most convenient for you. You can reach our Huntington Beach office at (714) 968-2527; our Brea office at (714) 257-0330; and our Placentia office at (714) 577-9070. We’d be happy to schedule an appointment for your cleaning and exam in a time that works best for you.

What Does The Dentist Look For During Routine Cleanings?

During your dental visit, we love talking with you and hearing how you’ve been since your last visit. We also want to know how you’re teeth have been doing, as well as check to make sure that you’ve been keeping up with your daily oral care. In order to do this, we’ll provide you with an x-ray to see deep below your teeth and gums. We do this in order to check for things like oral cancer or other issues that may not be visible to the naked eye.

In addition, we also use your time during your exam to look for microscopic cracks or breaks in your teeth. For example, you may have a cavity that needs to be filled, but you won’t know that if you can’t see it. You could also have other issues, such as gum disease or gingivitis that we can help you alleviate.

The Longer You Wait, The More Damage You Risk

Finally, we also highly recommend that you come and visit us twice a year because we know how easily it is to continually put something off if it doesn’t seem like an emergency. Sure, your tooth may hurt; but maybe it’s not enough to schedule a dental appointment for. But then you put that off and, before you know it, it’s nearly a year later and you’re still dealing with serious oral pain. If you simply make a plan to come and visit us, you can tell us about any problems that you are experiencing and we can work to fix the issues. The longer you wait to have these things seen to, the more damage you are risking.
