Protective Dental Sealants

Here at CDIC, we know that kids don’t always listen to the dental advice that we give them. Unfortunately for them, this means that they are putting themselves at risk for sustaining quite a bit of damage to their teeth as they get older. And while we’ll always advocate for proper oral cleaning that involves brushing, flossing, using mouthwash and visiting the dentist, we’d also like to announce that we offer protective dental sealants that could greatly help your child during their teenage years.

To find out more about dental sealants, give us a call at one of our three offices: Huntington Beach (714) 968-2527; Brea (714) 257-0330; or Placentia (714) 577-9070. We’d be happy to discuss more about dental sealants, as well as schedule an appointment for you and your child to come in.

What Are Protective Dental Sealants?

When children are going through their adolescent and teenage years, it’s likely that their diet isn’t going to be so great. They may snack on candy in-between classes at school, they may drink soda or energy drinks to help them get through the day, or they may chew on their pencil while sitting in class. And to top it all off, they may be so tired in the evening that they forget to brush their teeth before they go to bed. When this happens, their teeth will start to decay and they run the risk of having serious oral issues as they get older.

Luckily, we can help by placing dental sealants on their teeth. A dental sealant is a protective material that we will place on the surface area of a tooth or on multiple teeth. With a sealant, children can avoid doing serious damage to their teeth that could result in needing crowns, caps, or even filled cavities in the future. The harder that we work to prevent a lack of dental care in their younger years, the more likely it is that your child will have healthy teeth throughout their entire life.

Are Protective Dental Sealants Only For Children?

Not at all! Although we like to hope that most adults will care for their teeth properly, we know that this isn’t always the case. If you are an adult that needs a bit more stability with your teeth, just let us know. We’d be happy to talk with you about dental sealants and how they can help to sustain proper oral health.

Whether they are for you or your child, we’d love to talk with you more about dental sealants. Your oral health is something that should last a lifetime, but some kids don’t realize this when they are young. In order to avoid mistakes that could haunt them for years to come, let us determine if dental sealants are the way to go. Give us a call today at our Huntington Beach office at (714) 968-2527; our Brea office at (714) 257-0330; or our Placentia office at (714) 577-9070, to schedule an appointment for your dental sealant treatment.
